Take a look at this, This was a car in for an Mot today, I can't even remember the make of the thing it was a small 2 seater plastic car with a 2 cylinder engine, like a smart car type of thing only much worse. These 2 video links will take you to YouTube which is where I've uploaded it:

This car was a "liger ambre" its a 500cc 2 cylinder car, made by a the reliant company, the master cylinder was mounted to an alloy panel, then a thick plastic outer cover, which formed part of the structure,,,,,, when we told the customer, he simply told us that he would try and find some wood to jam in so it wouldent move, !!!! obviously we told him this would be unacceptable, and sent him on his way, cant wait to see it again on retest,

That's worth checking closely on Dutton Phaeton and Melos kit cars. A standard ford pedal box from a car with a steel bulkhead is bolted to a GRP panel. Very flexible, and known to crack as well. I think I remember the steel bulkhead on MK1 Astras breaking out as well, but there's not many of them left now. (possibly a result of brake failure)
