ET 4632978 issued via help desk.
So why does my splash screen say "MOT Computerisation is Operating normally"
Logically If I cannot get a link at Start Up then it should then say MOT Computerisation is NOT Operating normally" It would be nice if the VTS Device then tried communicating its self, say every 15 mins 'til communication is established. Message then changed to the normal one and it would save us keep retrying.

Wasted day today. Started the system up @ 8.00am & logged my first test on. Went back at 9.00 to enter results & couldn't get on. Tried rebooting etc switching modem off & on still nothing. Phoned the help desk 20 minutes to get through then another 35mins on hold to speak to someone to get the incident number etc Murder bloody murder, finally got back on this afternoon about 2.00pm so it took me the rest of the afternoon to catch up with the paperwork

The first hour or so is the worst bit when you're trying to get through to find out if it's you or them, then waiting for them to declare Emergency testing while you get further behind on the days work. Then there's all that sodding paperwork. They really do need to sort out a proper Stand Alone Testing system, where you decide yourself to start it.

I don't understand stand alone testing ....... I thought that when the computer couldn't contact vosa it went into stand alone, so as not to cause any delay .... So why didn't it yesterday .....
Our two computers go into stand alone whenever they feel like it, no warning, you log on normally, when you come to log off its in stand alone..... its really frustrating .... spoke to the help desk, they say it shouldn't do it... oh thats ok then.....
