Do us a favour and throw a few bricks through VOSA's HQ windows, give them something extra to do like we will have tomorrow. Graham

Coincidence - or what ?
Another major update on the weekend & we get a national system failure.
What excuse are we going to get this time ?
Goof job that partial testing & revised test fees have been postponed until later this year...

I finished my last test at 5.00, so I'm looking forward to the fun in the morning. It's a shame because everything seemed to be working fine, some of the wording in the failures has been altered too, headlamp aim was one I came across.

System worked fine for me first thing this morning even though the helpline was still giving out the ET number. No problems all day, was it ok for you guys too?

Hi all. No problems in Chichester, glad to see that the update has simplified the headlamp aim criteria, personnally I could'nt see what difference the hight of the headlamp from from the ground made before, if the beam was to high or low for the MOI criteria, that was it, end of story. Now we have been computerised for about fourteen months it is be becoming a lot easier and quicker to log on, usually only one or two choices and that is the manual/auto check box (I fail to see what difference the type of transmission has on an MOT test???). One other observation, the type of emmision test on petrol engines has been left of the VT40's since the update, a bit confusing on the K, L, and M registrations especially as some are exempt from a cat test, have to consult the new VOSA emmision test book more frequently now to make sure there is a match.

I noticed the non-component related advisories page has dramatically changed, you can now put a tick in a box for a specific tyre that has a nail in it. Airbag light on, for some reason has been removed though. They still haven't changed the advisory for 'slight play in a rear wheel bearing'.
