Anyone else have difficulty logging in at around 4pm today. Must have been at least 20 mins before we could log in to finish a test and register the next one. Help desk engaged all the time.

I wasn't contibuting to the overload. My MOTs have gone quiet this week - as they normally do in the middle of November.
Gave me chance to finish off some other jobs ;D
Though I must say that I have only ever experienced one delay in logging in, and that was for about 30 seconds. So far, the system has given me no problems - 'touch wood'...

Yes same problem at our vts . The usual waiting customers and no help line available .Also as it was around 4 to 4.30 the 2 area offices /GVTS I tried to contact for advice had gone home for the day. When will VOSA realise that the back up for this system and contingency plans in the event of problems do not work. Or maybe the people at the top are aware but are not that concerned about the financial loss test stations are suffering as a result of computerisation. Does Mr Stephen Tatlow(CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF VOSA) rely on a computer system operating correctly to ensure he gets his salary , I doubt it !! During last weeks system crash I spoke to a VOSA VE who said that if he was a garage owner he would lobby his MP as the way VOSA was running the computer testing was a major concern for him

We have been up and running since April and so far... we have only sustained 1 problem where we had to go into fallback...
I REALLY HOPE IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN !!!
After about 30 minutes on the phone to register a test, then a following 30 minutes to supply results etc... its pathetic.
I thought we would be able to get out the "BACKUP" mot certs,BUT NO...
I mean dont they trust us anymore with a system we have used for years???
I love this computerisation scheme... gives us all something to moan about !

Yes same problem at our vts . Thanks, Glad (joke) I wasn't the only one. Only had the system in for a week and 1 glitch already. This one I will let pass but if it happens again there is going to be a LOT of letters flying around. As far as I can see the fallback is a joke. If the system is down why can't we just carry on testing and enter the results etc when the system is back up. Customers could call in the next day to pickup their cert or I would even post it to them if it meant there was no disruption. Graham

Yes 4.30 again and the system was down I tried the help desk, its a lot better now that they have changed the music whilst you wait for them to cut you off or provide that ever helpful engaged tone. We must all phone our local office or VE when we have a problem ,put pressure on them and they may do something about it.
