A vehicle was tested at my VTS some months ago. Most of the test was completed, but it wouldn't go through the emissions test - it was billowing smoke, & not willing to clog up our EGA, the test was Abandoned. It failed on numerous items and VT30 was issued with a test number and a full fee charged. At the end of the week, a test log report was ordered & downloaded next day. The vehicle did not show up in the log. Last week, the vehicle returned with a new owner who bought it cheap. The owner asked us what the vehicle failed on, so that he could get the repairs done. So we tried issuing a duplicate VT30, but the VTS computer said that 'no such test existed for these vehicle details' ? Can anyone shed some light ?

Tom, Did you Abandon the test on the VTS device or did you meant that you just stopped testing the vehicle when it billowed smoke.

the report tuned up (wonders of modern technology) and shows that i did indeed do four mot's , however two off them were the same vehicle i contacted Siemens and their explanation was that it was a pass and fail as i did a psp, what i did not understand was that this generated two test numbers the first one was listed as a pass and the second was a fail, i dont know if this would impact on a pass/fail rate, and tried to explain this to Siemens and they said take it up with vosa or our local inspector
