We have had a few vehicles for test with the DVLA database not matching the vehicle being presented for test. - Chassis numbers incorrect
- Engine cc incorrect
- etc
I had one car shown as a 998cc in the database & V5, but the engine was a 1600! I guess that guy is going to get a bill for back tax for the larger engine

I had a similar problem with a boy racer's car. On the V5 was a 1200cc and the engine code was C14NZ a 1400cc. The customer insisted it was a 1200cc but I showed him that the engine said it was a 1400cc.
I think he told his insurance company it was 1200cc to get cheaper insurance.

I tested a P reg Volvo S40 yesterday, the database came back with the date of first use as 01/01/1971, and the emissions identifier as visual! I had to abandon the test as the customer didn't have his V5 with him. How the hell did that information get on there?

Here's a good one I had last week. A BMW 316 that was also a Pedestrian Controlled Vehicle (no longer used).
