Is it just at my test station, or does the public at large not know what an MOT test is all about ?
Most think it is another form of taxation. One more step they need to complete before obtaining a vehicle tax disc.
Hardly any of them realise it is to check that their vehicle meets the minimum standards to be used on the roads.
What should be done to make the public more aware ?

Some of them think that when they have had an mot the cars ok for another year. If say a wheel cylinder bursts 3 weeks after they say "its just had an mot!". Some think that the mot is a service and nowt will go wrong with it after (which is simular to the above I supose). A TV advertising campaign mite just get through to most of them.

Most customers just want to tax the vehicle, thats all a mot test is for and if you do get caught with out one then it's only a fine for about £40 so what.
