I have a saab 900 se 2.0 turbo which failed its MOT on 11/9 for various things which have no been resolved with a little help from friend as i am a poor student so going to a garage wasnt an option.
Today finally finished fixing the car with the final fix of "excessive play in steering coloumn" which required taking the airbag out and then replacing it after tightening a nut etc.
Now the SRS light has come on (due to me disconnecting the airbag) and needs to be reset by saab at a cost (which i dont have at the moment)
Now my question is that if i take it back to the same MOT station before friday when the 10 days is up
(1) is it a full MOT or just a retest on the parts they failed on before
(2) Can they fail me on the SRS light as it WASNT part of the original MOT Failure
Many thanks in advance for advice

it is only a retest of the items it failed on & any items which may have been disturbed during the repairs , for example : replacing a driveshaft boot usually means disturbing the ball joint etc. airbag warning light is not a testable item .

You should have disconnected the battery before disconnecting the airbag squib, the light wouldn't have come on when everything was put back. You don't need to go to a Saab dealer to put out your airbag light, most decent independent garages these days have the right equipment to reset them at a fraction of what Saab's will charge you.
