The offside wing mirror on my Ford Puma was knocked off a while ago, but apart from the internal mounting clips it was undamaged. Since then I have securely fastened it using gaffer tape.
Does anyone know if this will pass the MOT or not please? It will cost about £200 to get a new one!

As you say - it is securely fastened. So there is no problem.

it is assessed as it is at the time of test , if the mirror is secure then it will pass . with regards to the tape failing when it gets wet , doesn't happen with gaffer tape , just look at all the mondeo's that have the bumpers held together with tape

The method of securing a device is not part of the mot test, so long as it is secure at the time of test, and does not matter anytime there after if it were to fall off. A pass and advise is the correct course of action in my opinion.

it is covered in drivers view from driver seat possition if it gives you reasonable view and not so insecure to fall off a pass and advice would be the right course
