A vehicle fails on a number of items. It takes a while to select them all in the RfR lists. Eventually you manage to print the VT30 out. Just before you hand it to the customer, you notice you have left an item off. There is no method (as far as I know) to get back into the system to add the RfR. So, is it ok to hand write it on the VT30, explaining to the customer that 'the system is new' & 'we are having teething troubles' ? Would Siemens be able to add it in & enable us to print a duplicate (modified) VT30 ? Thankfully, I haven't left anything off myself (yet). I use the highlighter method of crossing each item off on the VT40 as mentioned previously on this forum. Another NT did. Luckily, the car remained with us for repair. The fault was on the checksheet - it just hadn't been copied acrosss to the computer

Boss did it one day and we just wrote it in afterwards but car was left for repair anyway. I couldn't see anyway of going back to rectify it either only print another copy.
In this case a word of warning - write down your findings YOURSELF as you find them. DON'T simply shout and get assistant to do it - if they're sleeping up there or dreaming they don't always hear you. Thats what happened here and when boss went to enter results (customer waiting) he just entered what was on checksheet. It was only as he proceded to explain to customer what car needed he tought hang on a minute thre was something else. Easily done, be interesting to know what propper procedure is.

Any reason why you can't just go back into "enter test results by NT" and issue another VT30 ??

Any reason why you can't just go back into "enter test results by NT" and issue another VT30 ?? The reason that can't be done is that the test has now been logged as complete, and the Smart Card has been cleared ready for the next test. With the old system, if you left something off the VT30, you could easily amend it. With the computerised system, once 'Accept Results' has been clicked, that's it, no going back. Perhaps Siemens help desk may be able to add/amend RfR items ? After all, it is possible for an NT to add & alter RfR's for tests that have been recorded by Siemens in Fallback...

Well, what about if the vehicle goes out and returns an hour later and you retest it....you would then have to re-fail it on the item you missed....so not much different from going straight back in and re-issueing another VT30. The only problem with doing this that I can see is that you may affect the free retest.

You can't go straight back in and issue a VT30 without first registering vehicle for test again. Because you've gone as far as printing out the VT30 you've accepted results as has been said and details are no longer on your Smart card.

Procedure as follows: OFFICIAL. Re-register vehicle for test again...then go back in and re-enter ALL failure items..send a copy of both failures to your local VOSA area office with a covering letter explaining why the second test was required. Job done
