Scene Enter Reg No +part chassis no + Computer says NO Enter Reg No +full chassis no + Computer says NO Double check + re-enter , Computer says NO Attempt to override by entering 3 Times , says NO again asks for date of first use . This is a Ten year old vehicle tested at this station for the last four or five years no problem. registration No dffers from Chassis No by one digit ,the last one . On production of the V5 a few hours later the chassis No on V5 is indeed one digit out . owner contacts Honda and is told that Registration Number is wrong , So this means our customer has been driving this car from new for the last ten years six of these with an MOT for a vehicle with the wrong plates fitted by Dealers the outcome was to change details and test as presented. This would mean there IS (or could be) another vehicle in the same position possibly ILLEGAL for the last Ten years !. Wonderful things these computers . Anybody else had these type of problems ....

Hmmmm
I wonder who you can invoice for the hours spent/lost on that one.
A freind of mine lost an afternnon on a Golf GTi 1994, that came up as a 1971 vehicle. The local VOSA guy had to call to verify the cars ID. Its not really our job or VOSA's for that, to correct the mistakes/errors in the database.
I would have been inclined to decline to test the vehicle & put it to the customer that they take it up with DVLA.
