I notice that 2 new options are available on the first page where you register vehicles for test, suspend test and resume test . I cant find any info in the system help or on screen manual. Any one got any idea ? . obviously havent got all day to wait on the useless help desk line.

I've seen them too. I wonder if they are for when you need to pause a test to spend a penny or answer the phone ? or If a customer comes in and asks for a duplicate certificate while you are in the middle of a test ? or If you register the test, do the emissions test, and are then waiting for another tester to finish with the lift ? or Perhaps you can test exhaust emissions on a few cars, suspending the test between each one, and then resume each test in turn to complete the test ? I did click on them, and they say things like 'You need to suspend some tests to be able to resume' and 'You have no suspended tests to resume' -- notice the tests is plural There are also new training booking options in the training link. The options seem to be 'book a Nominated Tester course' or 'book a Nominated Tester course' ? (both the same?) There are unused sections in the manual that may be used to instruct us on these new features... Just have to wait & see...

Yes I noticed these. Typical VOSA they either introduce things and never tell us, or tell us they are going to do something and its months before it happens..... Wouldn't have been too difficult to have put a message on the system to tell every Site Admin what was updated/added. Graham

I've had a look at the manual stored on the VTS device. There have been updates added for the improved vehicle registration entry, but I can't see any indication about the Suspend / Resume a test options.
The vehicle registration procedure will give results from the DVLA that closely match the reg / vin the tester has entered. This will allow the tester to confirm the correct VIN has been typed, or to double check any mistakes.

Suspend / Resume These two functions were used by internal Development for test purposes and were made visible in error in the weekend's release. A fix was released on Monday evening to remove them from the NT menu.
The main reason for the upgrade was as Tom said, to introduce a better method of highlighting non matched VRM/VIN entries and the Ducati CBT has been duly ammended if you want to see the changes (or register a vehicle in training mode and give it a whirl with a bad VRM etc).

It saves the rest of us trying to get through to the help desk to find out how to use the new functions. The idea of using such a function to pause a test to issue a duplicate certificate seems like a good idea, though..
