I was just wondering if anyone has had any vehicle come up with the VRI check yet or is it a white elephant

It certainly is not a white elephant, all recalls are sent out but many never get delt with. Vehicle recall information is a clever way so that every car can be flagged and cleared when the rectifiacation is delt with.
Funny last night i tried to put a long post on a Merc 500CL that under Road test for a control throttle prob at 70+ the car took off at full throttle.speedo max 160mph oh such joy of testing. Lost the lot!not the car but the posting. I shall see if there are any reports first and inform the franchise dealers of the fault and rectification. The owner is still shaking.

I suppose you will tend to have more vehicles with VRI's if you primarily test newer cars.

I had a Peugeot 406 a while back - VRI stated there was a problem with the cooling fan and automatically issued an advise sheet. It hasn't happened with other 406's so I'm guessing that the fault was never rectified on that particular car.
Would the owner still have the option to have it repaired under warranty?
