I understand it is now possible to issue a duplicate MOT certificate from any VTS, not just the original test station.
Can I as a tester at a Class IV test station issue a duplicate test certificate for a vehicle of a different class ? ie a Class II or a Class VII ?

Interesting question, I would think that you would only be able to issue duplicates for the class that you test for.

As the computerised 'certificate' is now merely a receipt. The actual MOT test status is held on the central database, it is my understanding that a duplicate MOT test certificate can be issued at any VTS.
The Sixth Edition of The MOT Testing Guide states:
[section H Page 5] The relevant test details are held on the system so duplicates may be purchased at any VTS, on payment of the appropriate fee. However a customer must demonstrate the right to acquire the duplicate document. In order to validate that right the customer must provide the test number from the original certificate or the unique reference number from the V5/V5C, plus the VRM. If the customer requests the duplicate at the original VTS, they may alternatively present the subject vehicle to satisfy this proof.
In addition, you don't actually have to be a tester to issue duplicates: Duplicate test documents do not have to be produced or signed by an NT but can be signed by any person designated by the AE to carry out this task.
