I hadn't heard of a Toyota Prius, but did a check on the MOT Computer's VSI (Vehicle Specific Information) Database. This is available from the main menu. Select the 'Messages, VSI and Reports' option. Then choose 'View Vehicle Specific Information'. The option is available to ALL smart card holders at the VTS.
Selecting make: TOYOTA, Model: PRIUS comes back with two possibilities:
Model Type, engine size, body type, propulsion, transmission, cc, engine code, model year, emissions req. 1. VVTi Hybrid (4dr), 1.5, Saloon, Petrol, A, 1497, XXXXX, 8/2000-12/9999, ABS/CAT/FWD: N/A 2. VVTi Hybrid (5dr), 1.5, 5d Saloon, Petrol, C, 1497, XXXXX, 4/2003-12/9999, ABS/CAT/FWD: N/A
In the drop down selection boxes, engine size, emissions requirement, cc, engine code & fuel type are already set.
The fuel type for both is shown as PETROL.
Selecting either of these vehicles produces a checklist with 'Carry out a visual emissions check (as pre 1st August 1975)' as the description for the emissions test.
