Hi,
I have booked an 09 Fiat Ducato 2.3 in for MOT via servicing stop.co.uk
Van is on 52k, drives well for 6hrs a day but had not had a service for a year and with MOT due December we had that done too. Only problem it had was rear indicator bulb.
Problem reported by garage
- major oil leak from camshaft seal - recommending to do timing belt (as 4 years old) but only because cam seal needs to be done.
Now there was no oil leak when it left, it sits on a red brick drive and is not leaking "heavily" as they stated at garage. (There's been no oil light on or evidence of leak I my driveway).
Apparently it should now not be driven??
Q: should this vehicle which has shown no signs of oil leak suddenly blow a seal? Can this happen during revving for emission test? My concern being it's been blown somehow??
Nb van was collected by their driver, passed MOT.
