Hi
I appreciate that most vehicles with semaphores won't require a test soon, but what is the current position regarding the tell tale? most vehicles don’t have any dash lamp, if the semaphores are visible with the mirrors is this ok? or is something else required?

Hi dave, I assume you are not an NT Based on that assumption section 1.4 of the manual refers to semaphore arms and says they must illuminate when in operation. It may flash, but is not required to do so. As far as the tell tail is concerned, the tell tail is missing or not working would be a fail, however I would need some time to look through previous special notices just in case we have previously been advised that provided we can see the semaphore arm from the drivers seated position, if the tell tail does not function, it may be a pass and advise. Yes, if it is visible in the mirror that is good enough.
