looking for a bit of advice , i have a mk5 transit which i converted to a campervan , last week the load sensing valve started leaking brake fluid , question is do i still need it or can i take it away and join the brake pipes up , the van is registered now as motor caravan and will never be used to carry any weight again

Lave it on and lube it's pins to keep it free! Not having one when it was fitted as standard is a fail.
Manual: section 3.6 Moi E2 RfR 2
"Evidence that a load sensing valve has been removed or disconnected from a vehicle where it is known to have been fitted as standard"

Lave it on and lube it's pins to keep it free! Not having one when it was fitted as standard is a fail. Manual: section 3.6 Moi E2 RfR 2 "Evidence that a load sensing valve has been removed or disconnected from a vehicle where it is known to have been fitted as standard" He cant leave it on lol, as its started to leak and needs to be replaced. As for the mot test, the braking stability of the vehicle, and the importance of road safety the load sensing valve will have to remain present, presumably with a new one in this case. The load sensing valve will have to remain on in any case as without it the rear brakes will receive full effort causing the rear wheels to lock up. Not only does the load sensing valve take into account "load" in doing so,it also restricts and permits the flow of fluid to the rear wheels. Although against popular belief that these valves are not serviceable, well they can be repaired, but to be on the safe side a new one or exchange one would be the best course of action in my opinion.
