I am due to have a VTS device installed soon for a new VTS. Do I need a dedicated line or can I use my normal line? I'm only expecting to do about 4 tests per week.
Also read that broadband can't be used on the same line? I have a spare filter to ensure the broad band doesn't interfere with the line.
Thanks

you can use your normal phone line but it ties up your phone line for customers phoneing you i have a dedicated linr for mine it cost me £7.50 per month i think this is worth this as it does not tie up your phone line also check if your alarm for the premises does not run on your normal phone line as it interferes with the vosa machine

A shared line will also interfere with credit card transactions.

A shared line will also interfere with credit card transactions. It certainly will! My device closed down when they tried to process a credit card transaction while I was logging off a test. I was on the phone to the helpdesk for a ouple of hours while they tried to sort out what had happened.

A shared line will also interfere with credit card transactions. Not an issue for me as I use a mobile machine. I know it will tie up the phone line but will see how it goes for now. Thanks for the replies.
