Hi
I am preping a 1950 Morris Z van, it's not been mot'd for 10 years. The owner causally mentioned to me that the chassis number on the V5 is wrong; on the V5 the first 2 characters are "S2" on the vans chassis plate it's "SZ" the rest of the numbers match.
I suspect this has been the case since the move from buff logbooks in the 70's and someone misread when keying into the DVLA computer. All Morris Z vans should start with SZ.
Will this present a problem when the van is presented for a test?
Cheers Dave

Wouldn't think so as the vts gives you a "close match" option or if you have typed in the correct VIN number you can select that option too..........

Thanks Chaps I'll book it in, just didn't want to waste every ones time if it was a non starter because of the chassis no, spoke to the DVLA today, they told me to instructed me to get the owner to edit section 7 of the new V5C. Re the MOT exemption, I hoping that even if it comes in for old crocks, I'll still be able to get an MOT, whilst I think I can look after older vehicles pretty well, I do value a second pro opinion...... even if if I do have to explain that its not just modern BMW's that have a separate starter button after the key has been inserted Cheers Dave
