Hi, Question for TESTERS... I have a track car that I drive on the road occasionally so it requires an MOT, it is fitted with a racing quick fill dry-break type fuel filler that is causing my MOT guy to scratch his head - to say the least Like this: secure2.cyberware.co.uk/~rad-shop/acatalog/info_690.htmlI usually fill it from a 50 litre bottle but have an adapter to allow me to do it at a forecourt pump if required. I also have a catch tank and an discriminator valve in place, but these do not really mean anything to a forecourt pump that is low volume in comparison to 8-10 litres per second of a race system. Dry-break systems are - by their racing nature far safer and more emission friendly than the basic forecourt system - in your learned opinions should my MOT guy be having an issue with this. I have managed to get it passed 3 years in a row with no problem. But that means zip. Any help or guidance very much appreciated, especially with regards to your interpretation of the rules etc.

Hi andygp Welcome to the forum I am not into racing cars really , also looking at the picture in the link provided, I can't say I have seen one of those before so cannot really comment on it, however when the car has been fuelled up for the racing track, and you drive round corners on two wheels ;D, I assume that whatever system has been used keeps the fuel sealed inside and can't leak Sounds like a Pass and Advise to me Look at Renault vehicles, we open the access flap and see a silver dish, the seal is built internally and we can't see it, and we don't remove a cap because one is not fitted, and we don't pass and advise either Dave

Cant see there being an issue although its out of the norm as we see bog standard petrol caps every day,all that is reqired to check is visible system components for leaks ,insecurity, filler cap, neck, sealing devices presence and positive fitment with engine on and off.As long as the system meets these requirements then there is no problem, there is no regulation of a spicific system part that needs to be fitted. Can he gain access to the filler cap? renaults and new fords have done away with caps and opted with self sealing filler neck WELCOME TO THE FORUM
