Every one of ours so far has been less than favourable.
I know it's only a paper receipt and less than two days but the comments so far have been:-
Where's the certificate?
It doesn't look "official" enough
Easy to forge
Where's the sticker???
Is that it???
It looks phony and shite
etc
How have your customers been reacting to the new forms?

no bad comments from my presenters, just "that's different". all they really care about is whether it's passed or failed not what the certificate looks like.

Yeah i agree embossing the certificate would make it more official hopefully, maybe should put it to VOSA, Load of funny look when you hand customer plain paper not impressed

Wondered if anyone here has tried "upping" the quality of the paper from the recommended or minimal 80gms to say 100. Have had no real complaints and if questions are asked I just say that all the info required is there to see.

what,s this, have you run out of certificates,no major complaints but it does,nt look very official the embossing stamp would be a good idea but when you,ve got a few vt30 and vt20 lined up in reception the fun and games begin with reception staff coloured certs where easily identifable but hey ho

TO BE HONEST I WOULDN'T CARE WHAT THE CERTIFICATE LOOKS LIKE,
AS IT SAYS ON THE NEW STYLE CERTIFICATES ITS ONLY A RECEIPT STYLE DOCUMENT.
IN PAPER FORM PROVES THAT THE CAR HAS BEEN TESTED YA , BUT THE MAIN THING IS ITS STORED ON DATABASE ANYWAY
I CAN SEE SOMETIME DOWN THE LINE AT SOME POINT WE WONT NEED ANY PAPER OR PRINTERS DUE TO TECHNOLOGY AND DATABASES

At the seminar they were already discussing the paperless idea. The problem is a legal one at the moment, because european law states that a cewrtificate must be issued, but if they can be persuaded the database entry can be a 'certificate', then I think we're all set to go ahead with that one.

Apologies Dave, for the lack of clarity. It was march,if I remember correctly, in the belfry hotel in Oxford, possibly the fifteenth. I will wear a hair shirt for a week as penance and promise to do better in the future ;D

I was like, no way you're sh**ing me...!!!! I could make one like that at home.... Well you could....... But how would you get your MoT pass details onto the central computer? Every time your car passed an ANPR camera or a police car (most of them are equiped with one) it will set a warning off and you'll get a pull. So how would you get out of that fraud charge then? Thats why a paper certificate isn't really neccesarry. It's all done LIVE
