Probably old news, but I had my camera with me today and thought I'd take a photo of a common fault on Vauxhall Corsa's. The cables frey at the nylon guides on the rear axle. Warning: SHARP! Reason for rejection: . a brake cable . knotted or, . with wires broken so that the cable is weakened significantly(I hope no-one is going to say that the cable isn't weakened significantly for an MOT failure)

that cables got years left in it not just corsas though most vauxhall models have this set up and it is a weak point

At service it should be libricated at the guides, but it just doesnt happen does it.
I remember replacing an ofside cable last year and it was tight in the guide. Gave it a tug and caught a fray... man thats something not to be repeated!
