Pulled by police, stated I have no mot. However it did fail but was retested and passed in November and was taxed the next day. I checked on vosa and it does say it was a failure and mot was refused. Problem is I can't find the test certificate and I'm unsure if I even picked it up from the garage the next day but I'm guessing I must have since I manages to tax the car?
What do I do?! Police have given me a horte but if I can't find the certificate it means ill be fined!

The easiest thing to do really that is if you are the registered owner of the car, go to any test station with your V5 logbook and get a duplicate test certificate, this will cost £10 max. If the VTS station says there is no record then you have not got a current test certificate on the vehicle. The police have the same access as us but it reads as though their computer system must have been down to give you a HORTE. If you get the certificate after this info and you are out of your seven days at the police station, if you can find out who the officer was you should try asking if prosecution is pending, if so you will have to go the court and produce your certificate and explain what happend, you might get reported for failing to produce your documents, it is up to the judge at court what happens, but is not a significant issue and awards no points on license.
