Not sure exactly how computerisation adds the results, but in the old days of the VT12 register, I used what we called a one line entry, this meant that any vehicle which initially failed the test but had any minor items repaired but have been PRS, which means passed after rectification service, so VOSA know the vehicle initially failed but left the VTS with a pass. I don't understand the part that says it takes up two tests but 1 slot? Is that not one test and one retest? How does it work? Daveg

I noticed this a few years back and checked with VOSA that we weren't getting charged twice for issuing a PRS. They explained it this way.
It is one test covered by two test numbers. The fail part (PRS) is one number and the pass another. Slots are only removed from your account on passes so is a different thing.
The two joined test numbers are held on the VOSA system as PRS's in regard to the VTS performance but in the event of publishing the stats publically, they are shown as initial fails.
The reason for the two different test numbers is that the Siemens (now Atos) comp system can only deal with a pass or a fail with one test number, and not both.

Daveg This proves to me your comments on my report are dumbfounded matey PRS shows as a normal failure on your reports but is classed as 1 test on your slots same as any fail...we're only deducted for passes currently but that may change soon
